Volunteering Opportunities Confused? Lost? Don't know exactly what these freaks are up to? VOLUNTEER! It's the easiest way to get involved with things and meet people. And it's a ton of fun! Our event is a place where work and play are kinda the same thing, so jump in with both feet and have a blast! Below are some areas where you can help out. Gate Greeters – Volunteer greeters welcome other participants to AfterBurn and make sure they are prepared for the event. It's usually a big party at the greeter station. Read the Greeter Training Guide and Greeter Cheat Sheet to get an idea of what is involved. An ASS Team volunteer schedule is available in the Database section of the AfterBurn Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FloridaAfterBurn AfterBurn Medical Posse (AMP) – We are looking for EMTs, nurses, or First Aid certified individuals to volunteer as an AMP. As first responders at our event you will treat minor injuries and, if necessary, work with our ASS Team to utilize the 911 system to evacuate a participant with a potentially life-threatening injury. They will liaison with Greeters to direct our AfterBurner participants to their camping spot or theme camp, and show them where to park their cars for the duration of the event. |
